Easy to make Granola

The nice thing about granola is that you can make it to your taste. Substitute rolled wheat for rolled oats, add pumpkin seeds or flax, use your favorite oil, and flavor with any dried fruit.  the sky's the limit!


Here's a recipe I used recently:


2 cups rolled oats

2 cups 7- grain mix

1 cup sliced almonds

3/4 cup sweet coconut

5 Tbs brown sugar

5 Tbs maple syrup

1/4 cup coconut oil melted

3/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla



Preheat oven to 250 degrees


In a large bowl, combine oats, 7-grain, almonds, coconut, and brown sugar.


In a separate bowl, combine maple syrup, oil, salt and vanilla. Combine bothe mixtures and pour onto 2 sheet pans. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to achieve and even color.
